Ann Aguirre-sci-fi fantasy writer

Just started reading Ann Aguirre's Grimspace series and I like her style of writing. Her heroine is a tough yet vulnerable character. Her character reminds me of Jani Kilian from Kristine Smith's "Code of Conduct" series. Sirantha Jax is put in a situation where she's doomed whether the mission is a success or failure. I'm in the middle of her third novel, "Doubleblind" and she's made ambassador to a planet where they have isolated themselves from humans since the last encounter proved disastrous. Can't wait to see what happens to Jax and her crew.
